The Security Industry Authority (SIA) introduced its Approved Contractor scheme to work alongside its existing licensing provision to raise performance standards and develop new opportunities in the private security sector.

It is a scheme that we have been involved with from the very start, highlighting our commitment to excellence. While being voluntary, we must continually fulfil a set of independently assessed criteria – totalling 89 points. These cover the following categories:

Silver Fox Award – Security Watchdog
The Silver Fox award was launched by the Security Watchdog to deliver an industry benchmark – assessing the alertness of duty security officers through ever changing, ‘real world’ techniques.

It is a voluntary and stringent audit that reflects the subtlety of today’s thieves and terrorists. Security industrial professionals, calling on years of experience, try every trick in their books to break down processes and gain access to the site.

By avoiding the obvious ‘gung-ho’ methods, such as scaling walls and using ladders, it tests the duty officers’ attention to details and round the clock awareness.

Our sites consistently pass these audits with flying colours – an impressive feat considering we hand full control to the Watchdog, and never know when or where these audits will occur. Just like a ‘real world’ breach.
