| Twickenham Stadium |
Twickenham Stadium, home of English rugby and the second largest stadium in the UK – seating
82,000 spectators – is undergoing major works on its new South Stand. The site is split between numerous contractors, each working in separate areas. This means careful logistical planning in areas such as material distribution and access onto and off of the site is key to keeping the development running fluidly.
During events at the stadium – from international rugby matches to concerts – sections of the site must be shut down. Elliott Thomas is assessing what steps must be taken for each event, based on its size, ensuring no disruption comes to the site. This often means that the working area has to be demobilised, followed by rapid remobilisation subsequent to the event.
Elliott Thomas’s service provision includes:
• Pre-construction – consultancy planning
• Security
• Traffic and delivery management
• Waste management
• Welfare accommodation
• Welfare cleaning
• Materials distribution
• Temporary services, including plumbing and electrics
