When Stansted Airport needed to extend and upgrade their immigration and passport control areas, principal contractor MLOGIC called on Elliott Thomas to provide strategic logistical assistance for the project. Stansted is London’s 3rd major airport, handling more than
20 million passengers a year. To ensure disruption to both passenger and airport staff was kept to a minimum at this busy transport hub, the team worked extensively outside of peak hours.
The priority requirement was the provision of material handling and on site delivery co-ordination during the implementation of a complex, 24 hour traffic management
system. One key element of the project was the installation of vast glazing panels for the roof structure of the new terminal and Elliott Thomas were required to ensure the
traffic re-routing system, involving the closure of arterial roads allowed for the safe passage of the materials whilst ensuring the airport functioned as normal.
