Requiring investment of over £4.2 billion, the construction of the Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 (T5) is one of the largest construction projects to be undertaken in the past decade, with over 60 contractors, 16 major projects and 147 sub-projects on a 260 hectares site.
Elliott Thomas provided waste management throughout the interior of the new control tower and the main terminal which, at 396m long, 176m wide and 39m high, is the size of 50 football pitches.
Co-ordinated by a dedicated team of supervisors, at any one time Elliott Thomas had in excess
of 100 operatives on site. As well as on site management, Elliott Thomas provided removal
of waste from site for segregation and recycling. |
