Leading UK logistics specialists Elliott Thomas is providing a total site logistics and security service to a major school development project in London.
The Bridge Academy, in south Hackney, is part of the government’s pledge to raise educational standards by building 200 new, publicly-funded independent schools across the country by 2010.
Helping meet the demand for additional mixed non-denominational places in the London borough, The Bridge Academy will offer the highest standards of education for all students – whatever their background or ability.
While the main site is being constructed in nearby Laburnum Street, high quality temporary accommodation is being readied to admit 180 year 7 pupils in time for the September term.
Under a contract worth nearly £700,000 with contractor Mace Plus, Elliott Thomas is providing 24-hour manned security and a full logistics package to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the project.
As work progresses, the company is monitoring all deliveries to the main gates with its in-house computer software, Deliver E-Manager, and cleaning the tires of every departing vehicle – keeping local roads free of mud and waste.
Furthermore, Elliott Thomas teams are responsible for removing all waste, apart from earth, via skip from the site and keeping the canteen, toilets and other welfare areas clean and tidy.
The contract is scheduled to run until the end of June, 2008.
