Work on a new school in Hatfield is progressing on schedule with help from leading specialist contractor Elliott Thomas.
Later this year, Howe Dell Primary School is moving from its old 16th century building to a brand new, purpose-built home on a housing development to the west of the town.
With construction well underway, Elliott Thomas is providing contractor Mace with 24-hour manned security and a full logistics package – worth £550,000 – to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the project.
The company is also monitoring all deliveries to the main gates with its in-house computer software, Deliver E-Manager, and cleaning the tires of every departing vehicle – keeping local roads free of mud and waste.
Furthermore, Elliott Thomas teams are responsible for removing all waste, apart from earth, via skip from the site and keeping the canteen, toilets and other welfare areas clean and tidy.
The contract is due to be completed by the end of August, 2007. Along with the new Bridge Academy in Hackney, it is the second educational project Elliott Thomas is involved with this year.
